We look forward to welcoming you to our new restaurant in the old bank on the High Street in Tring town centre.
Our fifth restaurant is now open at 21 High Street, Tring in Hertfordshire. Originally built in 1922, ‘The Old Bank’ is full of historic features that have been restored or recreated by Managing Director Andrei Lussmann and his team.
With his keen eye for detail and talent for design, Andrei has created a spacious ground floor dining area with a window into the kitchen, a light and airy mezzanine level with views over a glass balcony and a beautiful, wood-panelled private dining room in the former bank manager’s office.
The three-month refurbishment has transformed the interior décor while maintaining the character and integrity of the building, which provides space for approximately 70 covers. A palette of soft, muted Farrow and Ball colours has made the most of the expansive vaulted ceiling, while award-winning British designer Neisha Crosland’s vinyl parquet tiles complement the original herringbone wooden floor.
Throughout the interior, a creative mixture of marble, wood, leather and glass creates the contemporary, relaxed feel that epitomises Lussmanns. Stained glass door panels, art deco lamps, hand-painted wall graphics, a gallery of work by local artists and eye-catching illustrations of cassowary birds loaned by the nearby Natural History Museum in Tring recognise and reflect the building’s history, along with its place in the local community.
Managing Director Andrei Lussmann said: “We are committed to bringing sustainable dining to the high street and we are delighted to now be open in Tring. Initial feedback has been very positive, with many diners complimenting us on the transformation of the old bank, and on the value-for-money of our set menu – which is available from 12-7pm every day of the week. Although our dedication to providing first class food and service to everyone will be consistent with the reputation we have already established, this restaurant provides a different dining experience. We hope that the local community appreciates what we do and we look forward to establishing ourselves in this lovely town over the coming years.”
